Gauge:
13 sts and 18 rows=4” in St st with two strands held tog
Materials:
Size 11 (8 mm) 26-29” Crystal Palace
Bamboo or DAISY Needles
circulars or size needed to obtain gauge
Merino 5 (100% superwash wool)
in 2 colors held together:
5 - 50 gr. balls #9816 Dogwood Pinks
5 - 50 gr. balls #5208 Blush
Instructions
Note: Entire blanket is knit with one strand of each color held tog.
CO 104 sts loosely.
Work 3 rows Seed Stitch:
Row 1: *k1, p1; rep from *
Row 2: sl 1, *k1, p1; rep from *, end k1
Row 3: sl 1, * p1, k1; rep from *, end p1
Working the first and last 4 sts in Seed Stitch and continuing to slip the first st of every row, begin with Row 1 of chart, repeating chart 3 times across. Place markers between repeats if desired.
Work the first repeat with the teddy bear in St st and the background in Rev St st. Work the second repeat with the teddy bear in Rev St st and the background in St st. Work the third repeat with the bear in St st and the background in Rev St st.
Note: both sides look the same, only sts are reversed.
Rep Rows 1-40 of chart 2 more times, reversing the bear and
background on the second repeat:
Work first repeat with teddy bear in Rev St st and background in St st. Work
second repeat with teddy bear in St st and background in Rev St st. Work third
repeat with bear in Rev St st and background in St st.
There are many variations possible. You could work all bears in St st and the background in Rev St st or vice versa. Add more repeats across or down for a bigger blanket (additional yarn will be needed). Or work St st bears on diagonal and Rev St bears diagonally in other direction.
Work 3 rows of Seed Stitch. BO loosely.
Weave in ends on WS. Block.
