Puffin Baby - Toddler Hat
Designed & Knit by Laura Andersson, Inspiration: Baby things are so sweet and fun to make! Tiny, enjoyable ways to try a new yarn, and make a gift for young life. Puffin is an amazingly soft yarn, and a lot of fun to knit. Materials: Crystal Palace Bamboo DP in size 5 US (or size needed to obtain gauge). Gauge: 4.5 sts per inch (16/10 cm) over St st. Size: Infant to ~ 18 mos Abbreviations: LT: K2tog but do not remove from left needle; now K into the 1st st again; move both sts to right needle. (note this is not a decrease but a twist). The stitch can ALSO be worked by knitting the 2nd st on left needle first, and then knitting the 1st st. Instructions: Start Mini-Cable Pattern: *(P2,
LT), around. Crown: K2tog until down to ~8 sts. Cut yarn leaving an ~8 in end. With a crochet hook, pull the end through each st one-at-a-time, and drop off needle. Pull tautly and bring end to inside. Finishing: work in all ends. Wash gently. This Puffin Hat was Designed and knit by Laura Andersson, Ph.D Laura is the editor (and
