Materials:
1 ball (100 gr.) Crystal Palace Yarns
Iceland in Fuchsia
(Color A)
1 ball (100 gr.) Crystal Palace Yarns
Iceland in Strawberry
Pink (Color B)
Crystal Palace Bamboo or
DAISY Circular Needles
2 US size #11 (8.0 mm) 16" needles for knitting in the round on two circular
needles
12 small tassels (purchase or make from floss)
Coordinating sewing thread
Closure snap, if desired
Gauge:
Approximately 3.25 stitches per inch worked in pattern
Please note that because of the stitch pattern, this bag will tend to pucker
horizontally so the floats need
to be carried very loosely. They will felt into the wrong side of the bag and
become indistinguishable
when the bag is felted to a firm density.
Measurements:
Before felting 11" wide, 8" tall
After felting 9"wide, 6" tall
Abbreviations:
K Knit
CO Cast on
BO Bind off
Instructions:
Use the Turkish Cast On technique described in the link below to CO for a total
of 72 stitches (36 on each
needle) with Color A. Knit 2 rounds in stockinette stitch (knit every round) and
then begin knitting the
Fair Isle stitch pattern illustrated in the chart and described below. Knit the
pattern 3 times, and end
after knitting Round 1 of the pattern.

Stitch Pattern
Round 1 and 6: K2(A), *K2(B), K4(A)* to the last 4 stitches and then
K2(B), K2(A) then repeat for the 2nd
needle
Round 2 and 5: K1(A), *K4(B), K2(A)* to the last 5 stitches and then
K4(B), K1(A) then repeat for the 2nd
needle
Round 3 and 4: K2(B), *K2(A), K4(B)* to the last 4 stitches and then
K2(A), K2(B) then repeat for the 2nd
needle
Stitch Chart

After completing the patterned section continue knitting as follows:
1 round with Color A
4 rounds with Color B
1 round with Color A
BO
Finishing:
Felt using your preferred method until most stitch definition is gone. Sew on
tassels as indicated in the
photo.

Fair Isle (or stranded) Knitting This is the art of knitting with two
colors of yarn on the same row in a
designated stitch pattern to create an overall pattern on your knitted work.
Some knitters will hold both
yarns with the same hand, while others prefer to hold a yarn in each hand. For a
