Bunny Hop
Softy SocksBunny Hop is a luscious new yarn Crystal
Palace Yarn combining microfibers and bunny angora. Click the yarn name just
below to see the complete color card.
Bunny Hop will arrive in early July.
The 8% Angora and the rest of the yarn being microfibers makes these socks feel SO soft!
Size: Women’s S-M (6-7) – (8-9)
Materials: 2 - 50 gr. balls
Crystal Palace Bunny Hop (shown in
color #0204 "natural")
Crystal Palace Bamboo 6" or 8" Double-Pointed Needles
US #5 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
Gauge: 5 sts=1” (20 sts/10 cm) in St st
Abbreviations:
CO = cast on
K = knit
P = purl
K2tog = knit 2 sts together
Psso = pass the slipped st over
Rnd = round
Sl 1 = slip 1 st
Sl 1 knitwise = slip 1 st as if to knit it
St st = Stockinette stitch
yf = yarn forward
yb = yarn back
YO =yarn over
Sock (make two):
CO 45 sts.
Rnd 1: (k3, p2) around.
Rnd 2: (k1, p1, k1, p2) around.
Repeat these two rnds until piece measures 4”. Work the following rnd once:
(k13, k2 tog) 3x. (42 sts)
Begin Heel:
Slide first 21 sts onto first needle and redistribute the rem 21 sts over
the other two needles. (If you have four working needles instead of three,
make sure the first two needles have a total of 21 sts.) The heel will be
worked in straight knitting.
Row 1: sl 1, k19, yf, sl 1, yb sl 1 back onto left needle,
turn.
(Note: This will produce a horizontal wrapped st around the slipped st
and prevent a hole in the sock heel at this point.)
Row 2: sl 1, p18, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 3: sl 1, k17, yf, sl 1, yb, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 4: sl 1, p16, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 5: sl 1, k15, yf, sl 1, yb, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 6: sl 1, p14, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 7: sl 1, k13, yf, sl 1, yb, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 8: sl 1, p12, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 9: sl 1, k11, yf, sl 1, yb, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn
Row 10: sl 1, p10, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 11: sl 1, k9, yf, sl 1, yb, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn
Row 12: sl 1, p8, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.
Row 13: sl 1, k7, yf, sl 1, yb, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn
Row 14: sl 1, p6, yb, sl 1, yf, sl 1 back onto left needle, turn.

Row 17: sl 1, k8, k wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 18: sl 1, p9, p wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 19: sl 1, k10, k wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 20: sl 1, p11, p wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 21: sl 1, k12, k wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 22: sl 1, p13, p wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 23: sl 1, k14, k wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 24: sl 1, p15, p wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 25: sl 1, k16, k wrapped st and next st tog, turn.
Row 26: sl 1, p17, p wrapped st and next st tog, turn.

Change back to working in the rnd. Sl 1 at the beg of the first rnd after heel, then knit until piece is 2.25” less than desired length. Begin toe.

Rnd 1: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k15, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 2: Knit
Rnd 3: Knit
Rnd 4: Knit
Rnd 5: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k13, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 6: Knit
Rnd 7: Knit
Rnd 8: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k11, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 9: Knit
Rnd 10: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k9, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 11: Knit
Rnd 12: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k7, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 13: Knit
Rnd 14: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k5, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 15: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k3, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Rnd 16: (k1, sl 1 knitwise, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Row 17: (k2, k2tog, k1) 2x.
Sew up rem 8 sts. Weave in all ends. Make second sock as for first.
