Note: Wind the third ball of Kid Merino into two balls of approximately equal size. When adding in the stripes of Little Flowers, leave a tail 6-10” hanging for side fringe; tie knot at edge of shawl. Shawl is worked with two strands of Kid Merino held together throughout.
With two strands of Kid Merino held together, CO 3 sts.
Row 1: K3
Row 2: K into front and back of first st, k1, k into front and back of last st- 5 sts
Row 3: K
Row 4: k1, k into front and back of next st, k1, k into front and back of next st, k1 – 7 sts
Row 5: K
Row 6: k1, k into front and back of next st, k across to last 2 sts, k into front and back of next st, k1- 9 sts
Row 7: KMark inc row with safety pin to assist in remembering which row you are on.
Rep last 2 rows until there are 167 sts.
At the same time, work 1 to 3 rows of Little Flowers with two strands of Kid Merino in intervals as desired or as shown:

With remaining Little Flowers, cut 12-20” lengths. Add fringe unevenly around edges of shawl with as many strands as desired, varying the number of strands used.
