CPY Circular Bamboo Needles or Daisy Needles:
Sizes US 10 (6mm) straight and OR size to obtain gauge, extra needle for 3 needle BO.
Size I Crochet Hook
4 Stitch holders for 3 needle BO
Tapestry Needle

Gauge:
14 sts = 4 inches, and 20 rows = 4 inches, in rib stitch pattern, using size 10 needle

Be sure to make a gauge swatch before beginning project.

Abbreviations:
Beg-beginning; BO-bind off; CO-cast on; Dec-decrease; K- knit; K2tog- knit 2 stitches together; p-purl; p2tog-purl 2 stitches together; p2tog-tbl-purl 2 stitches together through back loops; Rem- remaining; Rep-repeat; RS-right side; SSK- slip slip knit; St(s)-stitch (es); WS- wrong side

Note: When joining a new ball of yarn try to match the color sequence of the yarn where you are leaving off.

Back:
CO 63 (67) (73) (77) (83) (87) (93) sts. Work in Rib pattern as follows:

Sizes XS, M, XL, 2X:
Row 1: K3, * p2, k3; rep from * to end
Row 2: Purl

Sizes S, L, 1X:
Row 1: P2, *k3, p2; rep from * to end
Row 2: Purl

Repeat these 2 rows until piece measures 13 (13.5) (14) (14.5) (14.5) (14.5) (15)” from CO.

Armhole Shaping:
BO in pattern, 3 (3) (3) (4) (4) (4) (5) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 57 (61) (67) (69) (75) (79) (83) sts rem. Decrease Row: SSK, pattern across to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rep Dec Row every RS row, 2 (4) (6) (7) (8) (9) (9), more times, working dec stitches into pattern as estab. 51 (51) (53) (53) (57) (59) (63) sts rem.

Work even in pattern until armhole measures 7 (7.5) (8) (8) (8.5) (9) (9) ”, end after working a WS row.

Shape Neck:
Working both sides at the same time, (1st shoulder) work in pattern across 16 (16) (16) (16) (17) (18) (19) sts, join 2nd ball of yarn; BO in pattern, 19 (19) (21) (21) (23) (23) (25) sts; work in pattern across rem sts. Each shoulder has 16 (16) (16) (16) (17) (18) (19) sts.

Dec 1 st at neck edge every row, 2 times; 14 (14) (14) (14) (15) (16) (17) sts rem.

Work even if necessary, in pattern as estab, until armhole measures 7.5 (8) (8.5) (8.5) (9) (9.5) (9.5)”. Place rem sts on holder for 3 needle BO.

Front:
Work same as for back armhole shaping AT THE SAME TIME when armhole measures 1 (1) (1.5) (1.5) (1.5) (1.5) (1.5)”, end after working WS row; begin Keyhole shaping.

Keyhole Shaping:
Working across row in patt, to center stitch. Join 2nd ball of yarn, matching the same color sequence, BO center stitch. Work rem sts. The front is now divided for left front and right front. Working both sides at the same time, continue armhole shaping as for the back. Work even until 5 (5) (5.25) (5.25) (5.25) (5.5) (5.5)” above center BO stitch.

Neck Shaping:
Note: When decreasing on WS (purl) row, p2tog tbl for decrease that slants to the right, and p2tog for decrease that slants to the left.

BO in pattern 6 (6) (7) (7) (8) (8) (8) sts at each neck edge of next 2 rows. Dec 1 sts at neck edge every row, 5 (5) (5) (5) (5) (5) (6) times. 14 (14) (14) (14) (15) (16) (17) sts rem for each shoulder. Work even until armhole measures same as for back. Place sts on holder for 3 needle.

Sleeves: (Make 2)

Row 1: P2, *k3, p2; rep from * to end. Row 2: Purl.

Work 8 rows pattern, then begin Decrease rows as follows; working decrease sts into pattern as established.

Dec Row: Ssk, pattern to last 2 sts, k2tog. 40 (45) (45) (45) (50) (50) (55) sts. Rep decrease row every row 8; 2 times. 36 (41) (41) (41) (46) (46) (51) sts.
Work 8 (10) (8) (8) (12) (10) (10) rows in pattern, then begin Increase rows as follows:
Increase Row: Kfb, pattern across row to last st, kfb. 38 (43) (43) (43) (48) (48) (53) sts. Rep increase row every 8 (10) (8) (8) (12) (10) (10) rows; 4 (3) (4) (5) (3) (4) (4) times. 46 (49) (51) (53) (54) (56) (61) sts.

Work even until sleeve measures 14.5 (15) (15) (15.5) (16) (16) (16)” from CO edge or desired length to underarm, end after working WS row.

Sleeve Cap Shaping:
Sizes XS and S: BO in pattern, 3 sts at beg next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end every row, 3 times. Dec 1 st at each end every other row 10 (11) times. Dec 1 st each end of next row. 12 (13) sts. BO rem sts in pattern.

Sizes M and L: BO in pattern, 3 (4) sts at the beg next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end; rep dec row every other row 13 times; dec 1 st each end every row 4; 1 time; work 1 row even. 15 (15) sts. BO rem sts in pattern.

Sizes XL: BO in pattern, 4 sts at the beg next 2 rows. Work 2 rows even. Dec 1 st at each end; rep dec row every row 4; 1 time and every other row; 13 times. Work 1 row even. 16 sts. BO rem sts in pattern.

Size 1X: BO in pattern, 4 sts at beg next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end; rep dec row every other row 13 times and every row 4, 2 times. Work 1 row even. 16 sts. BO rem sts in pattern.

Size 2X: BO in pattern, 5 sts at beg next 2 rows. Dec Row: Dec 1 st each end; rep dec row every other row 15 times and every row 4, 1 time. Work 1 row even. 17 sts. BO rem sts in pattern.

Finishing:
Join shoulder seams by working 3 needle BO as follows: Place stitches from right back shoulder onto 1 needle, rep for right front shoulder onto 2nd needle, with right sides of each piece together, using 3rd needle, put 3rd needle into the first st on front needle and the first st on back needle, knit these 2 sts together, (you will have 1 st on right needle), rep for 2nd st. With 2 sts on right needle BO. Work in this manner until all sts have been BO. (You may bind off shoulder sts and sew seam if desired). Using tapestry needle and yarn, sew sleeves into armhole, and sew side seams. Note: Using a Backstitch to sew sleeves into armhole and Backstitch or Mattress stitch to sew side seams, will keep the yarn color from showing through on the right side. Work Neck trim. Work in all ends.

Neck Trim:
Using Crochet Hook, WS facing begin at right neck edge BO sts (above the front slit). Join yarn and slip stitch around entire neckline, end after working the BO sts at left neck edge (above front slit).
