Gauge: 2.75 = 1" in garter st

Overall measurements, from neck to bottom, 22", from end to end 40" with lots of room for give as garter is very expandable.

Poncho is worked all in garter st (knit all rows)

Make Bobble (MB)
On a right side row, Knit into the front, back, front, back, front of a stitch, making 5 sts where there was one
turn the work, knit the 5 new sts
turn the work, purl 5
turn, K2 tog, K1, K2 tog
turn, K3 tog

Instructions:

Cast On 120 sts in color A
*Row 1 Knit 2 sts, MB, Knit to within 3 sts of the other end, MB, K2
Row 2 K
Row 3 K
Row 4 K **
Change to color B and repeat from * to **

Work colors alternately, 4 rows of one color, 4 of the other and so on until 78 rows are completed.

Split for neck. Work across 60 sts. Put remaining sts on a holder. Work on these 60 sts, making the bobble only on the bottom edge, not the neck edge as before. Work 32 rows. Place these sts on a holder.
Put the 60 remaining sts on the needle and work 32 rows as before, making bobbles only on the bottom edge.
Knit across all the sts, joining the piece together to close the neck opening. Work 78 rows.
Bind off.
