MATERIALS: Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille 100% cotton, 98 yds 50 gm balls. 2 balls each, colors A and B.
Shown: A:#8166- tomato red & B:#9292-charcoal
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles 16" circular size 6.
[Note: This double knitting technique requires a circular needle.]

GAUGE: 4 sts = 1" in Stockinette stitch (St st) on larger needles. Take time to check gauge.
Abbreviations:
sl: slip stitch
cont: continue
rem: remaining
yb:yarn back
yf: yarn forward
Note: This scarf is reversible and double thick.

Scarf:
With size 6 circular needles and color A, cast on 48 sts.
1st row: Using A* (yb, k1, yf, sl 1) 4 times, (yb, sl 1, yf, p1) 4 times, rep from * to end. Return to beg of row without turning work.
2nd row: Using B *(yb, sl 1, yf, p1) 4 times, (yb, k1, yf, sl 1) 4 times, rep from * to end. Turn work.
Rep last 2 rows 3 times more, twisting yarn at sides to close.
9th row: Using B as 1 st row.
10th row: Using A as 2nd row.
Rep the last 2 rows 3 times more.
Rep these 16 rows.
End scarf with row 1 or row 9. Bind off by knitting two stitches together twice, then pass first stitch on needle over second st. Continue in this way until all sts are bound off.
