Materials: Crystal Palace Crème 60/40 wool/combed silk

Cable-Eyelet Scarf
(shown at right in photo, approx. 16" x 68" for 6 ball scarf)

Materials:
Crème: 6 - 50 gr balls #2005 "buttercup" (2 balls for narrow scarf)
Crystal Palace Bamboo or DAISY Needles US #8 straight needles

Gauge: 20 sts/4 inches

Instructions:
Cast on 82 sts.
See the symbols below to understand stitches used.

The chart is read from right to left. The chart represents the stitches from the RS (Right Side) of the scarf.
All empty squares are K sts on RS and P sts on the WS (Wrong side).
The horizontal bar indicates P sts on RS and K sts on WS
All even rows (WS) are P except where the vertical lines of bars are indicated, those are K on WS.

The 18 st section of the Chart from sts 3 to 20 is the pattern section and it is repeated 4 times for the wider scarf and 2 times for the narrower scarf.

The 2-2 Cable Stitch - right slant is worked over 4 sts. Put 2 sts on cable holder, hold toward back of work, K the next 2 sts, then K the 2 sts from the cable needle.

As a sample to see: RS Row 5 of the Chart is worked this way from right to left:
k2, *p1, cable 2-2 right slant over 4 sts, p1, k2, yo, (sl1, k1, psso), k4, k2tog, yo, k2* repeat 3 more times between stars, then p1, cable 2-2 right slant, p1, k2

Follow the chart until you have knitting 468 rows or until you are out of yarn and Bind Off.
Cover with soft towel and block gently with steam held a few inches from the surface.

(Note: if you are a crocheter, you may wish to add picot st to the end of the scarf as shown in the photo, we do not include instructions here.)
