Approximate Size: (One Size fits most)
36 on each side, and approximately 18 along the front edge.
Approx. Gauge: 10 sts/2 in.; 13 rows/2 in. in St st.
Gauge is not critical for garment sizing although if you knit at a different
gauge, your garment size will be smaller or larger.
Materials:
7 50 gr balls,
Crystal Palace Panda Silk DK, 50g-120 yds/skein, #8011 cranberry tones
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needle size 7 (5 mm) circular (35 and 26) or
straight needles. Change needle size as needed to achieve gauge
4 Stitch markers
1 locking marker, coiless pin, or thread loop
Shawl is worked in rows, from the starting from the lower
edge and working upward toward the shoulders. A long needle is more comfortable
at the beginning due to the large number of stitches. As the number of stitches
decreases a shorter needle can be used. I started with a 35 circular needle,
and ended with the 26 circular needle. Straight needles can also be used.

Designers Note: This
shawl was designed for my daughter as she recuperated from major surgery. It is
part prayer shawl, part garment and can fill either role. The soft warmth of the
yarn comforts those in need of comfort, the machine washability makes the
garment welcome in any setting. Make this shawl for the person who taught you to
knit or someone else you love.
