Knit lengthwise on size 15 circular needles
Finished Scarf is approx. 72 inches long x 4 inches wide.
Materials:
1 - 50 gr. ball RAVE
fringed ribbon
(scarf in photo uses color #417 "ferns"
2-50 gr. skeins of
Cotton Chenille in contrasting colors
(scarf in photos uses 1 skein Color A: 1 skein
color #4043 "jungle" & Color B: color #1240 "limeade")
CPY Circular 26" Bamboo Needles
Size 15
Stitch Used:
Garter St (knit all rows)
Note:
before beginning knitting, cut 14 pieces of RAVE approximately 12-13" long
each for fringe. Put aside until scarf is finished.
To knit scarf:
With size 15 needle, cast on 105 sts with color A, Cotton Chenille.
Rows 1-2: Knit
Rows 3-4: Change to RAVE and Knit
(knot Rave to Cotton Chenille and leave 6-7" tail for fringe, do not break
Cotton Chenille)
Rows 5-6: change to Cotton Chenille color B and Knit
Rows 7-8: change to RAVE and Knit
Repeat rows 1-8
Last 2 rows: Knit with Cotton Chenille color A.
Bind off LOOSELY (if you tend to knit tightly - use a size
17 needle to bind off as it is important not to bind off tightly or the edge
of your scarf will be bowed.)
Use the 14 pieces of RAVE you cut at the beginning to tie 7
doubled to each scarf end for fringes.
