Scribble Lace Scarf
Kid Merino + Deco-Stardust
This scarf was
inspired by the technique described in an exciting book, Unexpected Knitting,
by Debbie New.
Take a look at this interesting book with innovative ideas at your local
1-25 gr ball of Crystal Palace Kid
Merino #9801 "code pink"
+ 1 ball of Deco-Stardust
metallic ribbon #4443 "midnight glow"
[Note: You can actually make 2 scarves with this amount of
Size 15 - 16" or 26"
Crystal Palace Circular Bamboo needles
Scarf will be approx. 6 feet long and 8-9" wide.
Scarf is knit all in garter stitch (knit all rows).
Cast on 20 stitches with Deco-Stardust
K 1 row
Inc 1 st each side on next row
Change to Kid Merino
Inc 1 st each side first row of Kid Merino [24sts]
Continue to knit 5 more rows of Kid Merino.
Change to Deco-Stardust and knit 1 row.
Continue to knit 6 rows of Kid Merino and 1 row of Deco-Stardust until the scarf
is 6 ft long.
End with 2 rows of Deco-Stardust, Dec 1 st each side of each of these last 2
rows and then bind off loosely.
Note: the reason for using a circular needle to
knit the scarf is so that you can knit one row of Deco-Stardust and slip the
knitting to the other end of the row to continue with Kid Merino.
