Splash and Deco-Ribbon
Materials:
1-100 gr. ball of Splash (here #9219 strawberry soda)
1-50 gr. ball of Deco-Ribbon (here #7239 picnic)For Scarf:
Size 15 - 26" circular CPY Bamboo needles
For Hat (knit on 2 needles, not in the round):
Size 11 - 9" or 12" SP CPY Bamboo needlesThe scarf is knit lengthwise in garter st (knit all rows). The hat is knit with 1/1 ribbing on 2 needles.
Note: If you only plan to knit the scarf and not the hat, follow the same scarf instructions, but cast on 115 sts instead of 90 since you will be able to make a longer scarf if you don't use yarn for the hat.Tip: If you are knitting the hat, knit it first and then use the remaining yarn for the scarf.

With Deco-Ribbon and size 11 needles cast on 80 sts.
Knit 2 rows in k1, p1 rib
Change to Splash
Continue knitting in k1, p1 ribbing for 6"
Begin to decrease as follows:
Row 1: *k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, k2tog, p1* repeat bet * to end of row [70 sts]
Row 2: k1, p1 ribbing, ignore the fact that some sts change due to k2tog in Row 1.
Row 3: *k1, p1, k1, p1, k2tog, p1* repeat to end of row [60 sts]
Row 4: k1, p1 ribbing
Row 5: *k1, p1, k1, k2tog, p1* repeat to end of row [50sts]
Row 6: k1, p1 ribbing
Row 7: *k1, p1, k2tog, p1* repeat to end of row [40 sts]
Row 8: k1, p1 ribbing
Row 9: *k1, p1, k2tog* repeat across row
Row 10: k1, p1 ribbing
Row 11: k2 tog across row
Row 12: purl
Repeat rows 11 and 12 until you are down to 1 st and bind off.Sew up seam to finish hat.
Scarf Instructions:
With Deco-Ribbon and size 15 circular needle, cast on 90 sts (or if not knitting the hat, cast on 115).
*Work 2 rows K with Deco-Ribbon. (knit all rows = garter st)
Change to Splash, knit 2 rows*Repeat, alternating 2 rows of Deco-Ribbon and 2 rows of Splash until you have completed 2 rows of Deco-Ribbon and have only a little left - Bind off LOOSELY (to prevent bowing of scarf) with Deco-Ribbon.
