Use US size 5 (3.75mm) straight and US size 7 (4.5mm) needles

Gauge:
Sizes S and L are worked
using size 5 and 7 needles
20 sts and 28 rows = 4" in pattern (blocked), using size 7 needles
Sizes M is worked using size 6 and 8 needles
18 sts and 27 rows = 4" in pattern (blocked), using size 8 needles.
For correct sizing, be sure to work a gauge swatch corresponding to the size you
will knit.
Back
Using size 5 (6, 5) needles CO 92 (92, 122) sts. Knit 6 rows
(garter st border)
Change to size 7 (8, 7) needle. Work rows 1-42 of Chart.
Begin shaping
Continuing to work from Chart rep rows 15-42. Inc 1 st at each end of
next row then every 10 (10, 18) rows 3 (3, 1) times-100 (100, 124) sts.
Work even until piece measures 12 (12-1/2, 13-1/2)".
Shape Underarm
BO 10 (10, 12) sts at beg of next 2 rows-80 (80, 96) sts.
Work even until armhole measures 8 (8-1/2, 9)".
Shape Shoulders and Neck
BO 8 (8, 10) sts beg of next 2 rows. Working both sides at the same time, BO 8
(7,9) sts at each shoulder edge 2 times, AT THE SAME TIME, BO 20 (20, 24) center
sts for neck, BO 4 sts at each neck edge, 1 (2, 2) times and 2 sts at each neck
edge 1 (0, 0) time.
Front
Work same as for the back to underarm
Shape Underarm and Neck
BO 10 (10, 12) sts at beg of next 2 rows AT THE SAME TIME join 2nd ball of yarn
and BO center 16 (16, 18) sts for neck-64 (64, 72) sts. Work 7 (5, 7) rows even.
Dec 1 st at each neck on next row, and every 8 rows 3 times and every 6 rows 4
(4, 5) times; AT THE SAME TIME when armhole measures 8 (8-1/2, 9-1/2)" work
shoulder shaping same as for back.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams. Work collar and armhole bands. Center and sew
the collar to back of neck and along the long sides of neck opening. Sew the
right short side of collar to neck BO sts. Bring left short side of collar under
the right piece and sew together across neck BO sts.
Sew side seams. Sew CO edge of armbands to armhole. Sew the short edges of band
to lower armhole BO edge. Make sure that the BO edge of the band for front and
back meet at the center side seam. These will be left open.
Collar
Using size 5 (6, 5) needles, CO 32 (32, 36). Beg working in K2,
P2 rib, and work 1 row then. CO 14 (14, 16) sts at the beg of next 2 rows, and
16 sts at beg of next 4 row-124 (124, 132) sts. Work all CO sts into rib patt as
estab. Work 6 rows even in patt.
Change to larger size needle, Work even until collar measures 4-1/2 (4-1/2, 5)"
(measure in the center of the piece from CO edge). BO all sts in rib.
Armhole Bands
Using smaller needles, CO 18 (18, 22) sts.
Beg K2, P2 rib. Work 1 row. CO 11 sts at beg of next 6 rows-84 (84, 92) sts.
Work all CO sts into rib pattern as estab.
