Taos Tee Top
Easy to Knit Pattern
SIZES: Small (Med., Large).
Finished measurements: 40''(42'',44)
Materials:
6 (7, 8) - 50 gr. balls Taos col.
10 'Hopi'
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles or
DAISY Needles size 7 & 8 or size to get the
gauge.
GAUGE: 5 sts/inch (20 sts/10 cm - 4 inches) on larger needles
PATTERNS:
1. Seed st: R1=*K1, P1*; R2=*P1, K1*.
2. Stockinette St: Right side, K; wrong side, P.
BACK: With smaller needles, cast on 92(98,102) sts.
Work in Seed st for 1". Change to larger sized needles and stocking st,
increasing 8 sts across the first row. Work even on 100(106,110) sts until 10-1/2
(11, 11-1/2)" from the beginning. Mark each edge for armholes. Work even
until 18(19,20)" from the beginning, knit 34(36,37) sts. Bind off central 32
(34,36) sts, knit rem 34(36,37) sts. Attach 2nd pair of yarns and work each side
separately.
To shape neck line, at each inside neck edge, dec 1 st every row 8 times.
Work even on 26 (28,29) shoulder sts until 20 (21, 22)" from the beg or until 2"
from the neck bind off row. Change to smaller sized needle. Work across the
shoulder sts, then pick up sts around neck edges, and then work across the other
shoulder sts. Change to Seed st, work even for 1". Bind off all sts.
FRONT: As for back until 17 (18,19)" from the beg.
Knit 38(40,41) sts, bind off the central 24(26,28) sts, knit rem 38(40,41) sts.
Attach 2nd pair of yarn balls and work each side separately. To shape neck line,
at each neck edge dec 1 st every row 12 times. Work even on 26(28,29) shoulder
sts until same length as back, then complete with Seed st band as for back.
FINISHING: Sew side seams up to armhole markers. With smaller sized
needles, pick up and knit 96(100,104) sts across the armhole, beg at one shoulder
bind off and ending at other shoulder bind off. Work sleeve bands in Seed st for
3-1/2". Sew shoulders seams and 1" of Seed st sleeve bands. Leave remainder of
sleeve bands free for vent.
