INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 34 sts and K 2 rows in St st (K1 row, P1 row).

Begin Working Chart for this Scarf:

(Click here to access the PDF file for the Chart to knit this scarf.)

The chart is 34 sts wide. The pattern repeat is 12 rows on RS. Cont to knit the 12 row repeat alternating with Purl rows over and over until you are almost out of yarn and end with two rows of St st, bind off loosely. Block to show off the stitch pattern.

To Follow Chart:

All chart symbols indicate the sts viewed from the Right Side (RS) of the scarf.

All rows shown on this chart are Right Side Rows - You will insert a Purl row in between each of these rows (they are not shown on this chart).

Rows shown are knit from right to left from front of scarf.

Print out the Chart and then refer to the following for knitting the first two RS rows:

Row 1: (RS) from left: k2, SSK, yo, k8, k2tog, yo, k1, SSK, yo, k8, k2tog, yo, k1, SSK, yo, k4

Row 2: (WS): Purl (this row not shown on chart)

Row 3: (RS): k4, yo, k2tog, k5, k2tog, k1, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, k5, k2tog. k1, yo, k3, yo, k2tog. k2

Row 4: Purl

Continue in this manner, repeating 12 row repeat as shown on chart (actually a 24 row repeat if you consider the Purl rows in between the charted rows).  BO.
